IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR ALL OUR SUPPORTERS:
As many of you know (or maybe not know) is that up until the end of August (2018) we had been using the help of a professional fund raising company. Whenever they sent out mailers on our behalf, they used a PO box in Los Angeles as the place  to send in donations. They said this helped them keep track of the donations for us.

We are no longer using their services!

Rest assured, we are well and we are here doing our best for the burros at our sanctuary. What both Diana and I want to make sure to clarify the mailing address for anyone who cares to send donations our way:
Wild Burro Rescue
PO Box 10
Olancha, CA 93549-0010

We want to thank all of you who have helped us with your donations in the past and hope you continue to help our burros in the future.

"I just received your Fall/Winter 2018 newsletter and I am delighted to see you have gotten rid of the professional fund raisers. I will renew my donations now. In case there were others who felt as I did, why not make a bigger splash about being independent again? I know you have limited time, so I hope this move increases the money you get to keep for the burros."  -B. Henderson

Fly predators really work!!

Moving Forward: A Unified Statement on the Humane, Sustainable, and Cost-Effective On-Range Management of America's Wild Horses and Burros

Below you’ll find the Unified Statement. We’re excited that 84 groups and experts endorsed it, representing equine advocates, animal welfare organizations, ecotourism businesses, photographers, rescues, ranching operations, equine professionals, and so many others from across the country. With all the bad news that we’re facing in our country today, this is a bit of sunlight. We want to make the most of it. Thank you so much for signing on with Wild Burro Rescue, for your encouragement, and for all that you’ve been doing. It means a lot to us.

welcome to our home

The cooler temperatures are finally on the way and we want to thank everyone who helped us to keep well stocked with the fly predators during

the hot summer months. We saw an amazing change in the fly population: it went way down, which was such an immense relief for our burros, horses and mules! We will be ordering more fly predators next March through October of 2019. You can help us be ready for next year by checking out our

GoFundMe campaign at  https://www.gofundme.com/summer-relief-for-our-burros and making a donation towards the fund so that we will be ready for

next year.

"Fly Predators are the natural enemy of flies, but never bother people or animals. Without resorting to chemicals, you’ll kill flies before they emerge. That way they never get a chance to bother you or your animals or reproduce by the gazillions.
You simply sprinkle Fly Predators near all manure areas every three to four weeks during warm months. It just takes a few minutes and you’ve done your fly control for the month. It’s as simple as opening a sack of potato chips!"

This will cost us roughly $400 per month to combat the flies. You can help by making a donation of any amount. You can use your Pay Pal app and hit the "send money" button and type in wildburrorescue@gmail.com or you can use Venmo @diana-chontos. Thank you!
